Two decades of dedication
This August marks a major milestone for Jason Brown Plumbing & Gas: 20 years in business!
That an incredible journey it has been. We still remember the moment Jason decided to take the leap and start the business back in 2005. With Kirstie six months pregnant and about to finish work, the timing probably wasn’t ideal. There was no backup plan if work didn’t come in. But we’ve never been ones to shy away from a challenge, and that decision set the foundation for everything we’ve built today.
From small beginnings to a trusted team
Growing step by step
At the start, Jason worked solo, helping as many clients as he could. As the workload grew, it became clear it was more than one person could handle. The next step was employing apprentices, qualified tradespeople, and eventually building an office support team.
Overcoming challenges along the way
It hasn’t always been easy. There have been plenty of ups and downs, challenges to overcome, and lessons to learn. What you don’t often hear about when starting a business is the resilience it takes when things go wrong. But it’s through those difficult moments that you grow, as people and as a company.
We’ve always believed in facing problems head-on, finding solutions, and pushing forward. That mindset has shaped Jason Brown Plumbing & Gas into the business it is today.
Investing in the next generation
One of the greatest highlights of our journey has been training the next generation of plumbers, gasfitters, and drainlayers. Watching apprentices grow in confidence and skill, and eventually earn their certification, is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
With a wave of experienced tradespeople soon to retire, it has never been more important to invest in young talent. We’re proud to have played our part and will continue to support the future of our industry.

What started as a small family business has now grown into a trusted team of 14, known across the wider Wellington region for delivering expert plumbing, drainage, and gasfitting services.
From simple maintenance jobs to full-scale renovations and high-end new builds, we’re proud to be solving plumbing problems with care, integrity, and precision.
